We visited the High Falls Gorge where we were able to walk along the gorge edge and view the waterfalls!
Lake Placid is the home of two Winter Olympics, in 1932 and 1980. We learned much about the history of the Olympics, the preparations and training for the Olympics at the Lake Placid Olympic Museum.
There were Olympic Torches from several of the past Olympics, including this one (see collage) from the 1980 Lake Placid games. I even had the opportunity to hold an original torch!
We drove up to Mt Van Hoevenberg to see where the bobsled events were held.
And just down the road from our Airbnb were the ski jumps!
This area is called the High Peaks because there are 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks. No wonder the Olympics have been held here twice!
