We made a short visit to Albany, New York. About 30 minutes from Albany is the Art Omni Sculpture & Architecture Park. Here is a collage of a few of my favorite sculptures seen at Art Omni:
Sitting atop an old warehouse in Albany, is a four-ton, 28-foot tall steel and fiberglass statue of Nipper, the canine mascot of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA). The warehouse had been used by an appliance distributor specializing in products by RCA.
While in Albany we visited the New York State Museum and the Empire State Plaza. We went up to the Corning Tower Observation Deck where we had gorgeous views of the city of Albany as well as views of the State Capitol building and The Egg!
This is a better view of The Egg, a performing arts venue.
Here's a photo of the New York State Capitol building from ground level. Too bad the reflecting pool was empty. 😕
The interior of the Capitol building is even more beautiful than the exterior. This is the War Room - with murals chronicling events in the State's military history. The floor carpet is designed as the Great Seal of New York State.
The Senate Staircase is made of red Scottish sandstone and has an ethereal feeling!
This collage features Moorish and Gothic motifs of the Senate and Assembly Staircases and the Hall of Governors:
We're in Lake Placid now enjoying the stunning fall foliage!
