On our way from Montreal to Ottawa we stopped in Hawkesbury, Ontario for lunch. We were thrilled to find that there was a classic car expo going on just a block from our lunch stop. Since we had plenty of time and it was gorgeous weather, we checked it out!
I especially liked this little fellow:
My favorite car was this 1952 Jaguar XK-120:
We made it to our Airbnb with just enough time to check-in and unload the car before heading to our next fun event! The day before we learned that there was a hot air balloon festival in Gatineau, Québec. This city is just across the Ottawa River from Ottawa so back to Québec we go!
It was quite a festival with carnival rides and music. We heard the American musician/songwriter Ne-Yo.
We saw three balloons go up but it was too windy for flying and for the balloon glow event.
There was a cool multimedia event with projections on a balloon:
The evening ended with fireworks 🎆 and the fun really began when trying to get out of the parking lot!🤣
We didn't get back to the Airbnb until 12:30! Our hosts probably thought we were going to be regular party animals!

We truly had a serendipitous day!
