Our Airbnb is on the waterfront which provides us with a beautiful view of the St. Lawrence River. We could probably have spent our days relaxing with this view but there are several places worth visiting in Trois-Rivières.
We visited the Sanctuaire Notre-Dame Du Cap which is a lovely Basilica.
We went to the Pop Museum which focuses on the popular culture of Québec. This description from a display at the Pop Museum really helps me to better understand and appreciate the language and people here:
"The Québécois tongue is a happy mix of different influences. It is made up of regional expressions from France, some tongue archaic terms (old-fashioned words no longer used in France), borrowings from Indigenous languages, many an Anglicism (often camouflaged) and Québécisms, words invented specially to describe the reality here."
Adjacent to the Museum is the old Trois-Rivières Jail. A guided tour allows you to see the cells, dungeons and other living areas of those incarcerated there between 1822 and 1986.
Nearby is the Musée des Ursulines. We were able to have a tour in English to gain insight into the lives and rituals of the Ursuline nuns and the role they played in Trois-Rivières.

Although not specific to Trois-Rivières, we did take the opportunity to enjoy an immersive experience of the works of Van Gogh. What a treat!
