Prince Edward Island

One of my bucket list items was to see the place described in the books by L. M. Montgomery, "Anne of Green Gables". Our visit here in Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.) doesn't disappoint! The island has rolling hills and there is a lot of agriculture, especially potatoes and blueberries. The red sand makes for lovely beaches and scenic cliffs.

And the Parks of Canada has maintained many of the structures featured in the books and in the author's life. The Green Gables Heritage Place was a home of the author's cousins and the inspiration for her books. Definitely a must-see!

Rooms are decorated with historically accurate pieces to replicate the home of Anne Shirley in the books.
