So here we are in Nova Scotia, slowly making our way north to Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.)
Trivia question: What famous Canadian singer is from Nova Scotia?
That's right, Anne Murray. Did my snowbird comment give it away? 😉
Did you know that the writer of the song "Snowbird", Gene MacLellan, wrote the song in 20 minutes while walking on a beach on Prince Edward Island?
I learned this and much more about Anne Murray at the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, Nova Scotia.
The Centre has memorabilia from when Anne was a child, such as her toys and school report cards. I think this baby picture is so cute:
Here's a photo of Anne at the beginning of her new career. She received a university degree in Physical Education and even taught P.E. for a short period.
There are many photos of Anne and other entertainers she worked with during her career. It was fun to see some of these younger faces!
This is definitely a hidden gem! It was fun learning about and listening to the music of one of Canada's national treasures, Anne Murray.
