We kicked off our Roman holiday with a food tour to learn some if the history of this city as well as to learn to eat like a Roman! This is a wonderful way to get acquainted with a new place, to learn key phrases and to meet a real local! Here are just a few pictures of the fabulous tastings we had!
We also had the opportunity to see how pasta is made:
Day 2: As if a 3 hour walking tour wasn't enough on Day 1, we hit the streets again with a 3.5 hour tour of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's Basilica!
We pre-purchasd an early entry tour that included a cappuccino and croissant. We had to get up early, but it was worth it!
The Vatican Museums are fabulous and a must see, even if it's a tour of the highlights.
To be able to stand in the Sistine Chapel and see the work of Michelangelo was an awe inspiring experience!
Sorry, no photos were allowed in the Sistine Chapel. ☹️
Then we had a tour through St. Peter's!
It was a long day and my feet are sore, but I would do it all over again! Thankfully we are here for almost 3 weeks so we can take in the sights at a more leisurely pace!
