2021: A New Plan and + 2020 adventures

We had made plans to travel to Europe in 2020 and then the COVID-19 virus hit!  Fortunately, we have not gotten the virus!  Like everyone else, our lives have changed.  We hope that we can visit our family in England later this year, and travel across Europe in 2022.  In the meantime, we have enjoyed a different type of retirement.

We have had the opportunity to travel a little within the United States in the past few months.  If you have kept up with our previous travels, you might remember that in December of 2018 we zoomed through Alabama and Mississippi in order to get home for the Christmas holidays.  We really did not do justice to these states.  We have since revisited these two states, exploring the Gulf Coast areas.  What a wonderful respite!  Please check back with me in February and March as I share these recent travels.

Today I would like to share a quick trip that we made to the north Texas area, around Dallas.  In December we made McKinney, Texas a home base for a few days in order to explore the area. McKinney has a lovely historic downtown area that features plenty of places to shop and eat!

One objective was to see some different holiday lights and the “Radiance! A Holiday Lights Spectacular” in Frisco did not disappoint!  We also found a hidden gem in Frisco, the Texas Sculpture Garden.  This garden is open to the public year-round.  This collection of contemporary Texas sculpture celebrates the work of prominent Texas artists.  Here are a few of our favorite pieces.
