Spain: Valencia & Granada

While in the Cataluña region, we spotted these two young ladies in local costume.

Of course we had to try paella!

VALENCIA:

In the city of Valencia there is a complex of modern buildings, the City of Arts and Sciences. These structures were designed by Santiago Calatrava. This is the same architect that designed one of our favorite museums, Milwaukee Art Museum in Wisconsin.

From Valencia we drove through the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the Andalusian province of Granada. Lots of beautiful scenery and even some castles:

GRANADA:

Our next stop was Granada. We had a wonderful tour of La Alhambra. Both a fortress and palace, this complex has some of the most beautiful Islamic architecture! Here are a few of my 200 photos! None of them do justice to the beauty of this place!

This morning we visited the the Albaicín which is the oldest neighborhood of Granada. It is situated in front of La Alhambra, making it a perfect spot for a photo!

La Alhambra

We've just arrived to the Costa del Sol. Gotta run so we can stick our toes in the Mediterranean Sea before heading out for our next excursion!
